We have the skills and tools necessary to put your child at ease when they come in for an appointment. Meet Our Team
Marjan Rashedi, DMD
Dr. Rashedi is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has a degree in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA. She graduated with honors from Boston University School of Dental Medicine and completed her General Practice Residency from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. From there, her lifelong desire to treat children led her to complete two additional years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, a hospital consistently ranked in the top ten of all U.S. Children's Hospitals.
A believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Rashedi is a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Academy of Dental Practice Administration, American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association, San Diego County Dental Society, and the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry. In her spare time, Dr. Rashedi enjoys swimming, traveling, horseback riding and hiking.
Lewis S. Coleman, MD, D.A.B.A.
Dr. Coleman serves as North County Dental Surgery Center Lab Director. He is board certified anesthesiologist with over 30 years of experience in private practice. He is adept in all forms of general anesthesia, including labor and delivery, trauma, pediatric, thoracic, geriatric, neuro conduction anesthesia, and invasive monitor installation. He is experienced in CRNA supervision and training. He also takes special interest, expertise, and research in stress theory and anesthetic techniques that minimize surgical morbidity and mortality.
Dedicated to his craft, Dr. Coleman is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, California Society of Anesthesiologists, and Anesthesia History Association. Through the years, he has worked in many hospitals and presented medical lectures at different conferences.

Laura Pashkowsky, DDS
Dr. Pashkowsky is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and limits her practice to treating patient’s oral surgery needs. She was born and raised in sunny San Diego, CA in a small town called Tierrasanta. She studied Cellular and Developmental Biology at UCSB and graduated with magna cum laude honors. She completed her dental training at UCLA School of Dentistry and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society and received the California Dental Association Award. From there, she pursued her passion of surgery and was selected to complete a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago Hospital and Health Sciences System. While there, she specialized in complex dental implant rehabilitation, bone grafting, wisdom teeth extractions, corrective orthognathic jaw surgery, microsurgical nerve repair, as well as completing medical rotations in internal medicine, anesthesia, trauma surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, surgical oncology, and pediatric surgery. While in Chicago, she was chief resident of the oral and maxillofacial surgery hospital team and was nominated as the hospital resident of the year.
Dr. Pashkowsky is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association. In her spare time, Dr. Pashkowsky enjoys traveling, painting, and bike riding at the beach with her husband.
Hayley Cox, DDS
Dr. Cox graduated as Phi Beta Kappa from UC Berkeley with a degree in Integrative Biology. She graduated with honors, as a member of OKU and student body president from the UCLA School of Dentistry where she received such awards as the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry Predoctoral Dentistry Award, Public Health Dentistry Award and Delta Dental Student Leadership Award. Her passion for public health dentistry and working with children, particularly children from underserved communities, led her to complete two years of specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, a hospital consistently ranked in the top ten of all U.S. Children’s Hospitals.
Dr. Cox is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and California Dental Association. In her spare time, Dr. Cox enjoys playing soccer, traveling to new places, enjoying the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. In addition, Dr. Cox spent many of her childhood years traveling and studying abroad in Mexico, Argentina and Costa Rica and is fluent in the Spanish language.
Neehal Ghoniem, DMD, MS
Dr. Ghoniem has a degree in Psychology and Chemistry from the University of Miami. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine and completed her General Practice Residency at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in San Diego. Her passion to advocate for and treat children led her to pursue pediatric dental specialty training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, a dental school that is consistently ranked in the top five of all U.S. dental schools. Dr. Ghoniem also received a Masters of Science in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Ghoniem is board eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and will be completing her board certification by the end of this calendar year.
Dr. Ghoniem is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Dental Association and the San Diego County Dental Society. In her spare time, Dr. Ghoniem enjoys running, traveling, hiking, and spending time with her friends, family and husband.
Jaclyn Barrera, DMD.
Jaclyn Barrera, DMD. is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Biology and specialization in Neurobiology. She earned her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. Her passion for pediatric oral health and education motivated her to pursue two years of specialized training in Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstien College of Medicine, where she served as chief resident.
Jaclyn Barrera, DMD. is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the San Diego County Dental Society. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking/baking, being outdoors, volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and spending time with her family and friends.
Robert Jungman, DDS
I'm an Escondido native, born into a family of dentists. After attending UCSD for undergrad, and UCLA for dental school and residency, I joined my parents' dental practice here in Escondido. I especially enjoy treating patients with complex needs, including root canals and implants. I am an avid seeker of continuing dental education, and I earned my fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2017. After working in a hospital position where I treated many younger patients with advanced procedures, I joined Dr. Rashedi and the dentists at North County Dental Surgery Center in San Marcos. I love the staff and the environment here and I'm happy to be a part of the team!
Su Jung Joung, R.N, B.S.N
Su Jung is a Board Certified Registered Nurse. She graduated from West Coast University with a degree in Bachelor’s of Nursing. She received such awards with Norma Ford Scholarship by meeting outstanding academic requirements. Her passion in nursing led her to continue with her Master’s Program to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. She loves working as a pediatric nurse and plans to work with children after completion of her graduate studies. In her spare time, Su Jung enjoys cooking, hiking, spending time with her family, and trying out new restaurants.
Jessica Cordero, R.D.A
Jessica Cordero graduated from UEI College and has been a Dental Assistant for 4 years, 2 of which she's been a Registered Dental Assistant. She loves hiking and on her spare time enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Jessica has always had a passion of working with children & having the opportunity to work and help with their dental needs is such a rewarding experience.
